Some hotels say they are pet friendly, but this one means it, and the pets know it. Previously we stayed a night at an an Amarillo "pet-friendly" hotel and my cat was terrified from the moment we arrived. At the Flagstaff AZ La Quinta Inn she immediately relaxed and knew she was among friends -even if they let out a few barks here and there. Because my little cat was so happy, believe me, I was too. Animals can sense what is and what isn't and this hotel IS truly a pet-friendly hotel and I was very thankful and appreciative. In addition, the "pet-designated" room that we were assigned was absolutely clean and odor-free, a boon to those with pet allergies to those pets with whom they are not accustomed to (this was not the case in the Amarillo hotel). To add to the emphasis of my gratitude for my cat's comfort level, we were not simply traveling on vacation, but were moving cross-country, which is one of the absolutely most difficult things for a pet to contend with. Total thumbs up to the La Quinta Inn in Flagstaff for both pets and people!!!!!!
Restrictions/Fees notes: What was also nice was that the La Quinta Inn Flagstaff did not charge an upfront fee for pets who did not cause a problem (i.e. a 7.5 pound cat who uses the litter box only), but only requested a waiver be signed for damages if caused, which is very fair.
