Although the hotel building was in good condition, our stay was clouded over because of the staff. Every last one of them need to learn how to say "thank you" and "hello." We had booked thru Travelocity, and the pet fees were supposedly taken care of through them. About 2 days into our stay, the extremely rude gentleman behind the counter began yelling at us (literally yelling) about how he didn't get his pet fee. All I was able to say was "Travelocity told me -" and he interrupted me and told me as if I was 2 years old that I'd "better" go and get money for him or he was calling the cops. Every time me and my friend passed in the hallways - even before that incident-, we had mad ea point to say hello, and not ONE of them, in 5 days, responded. PLEASE fire and replace your staff. I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE. They say there is an area to walk your dog - yeah, in the construction next to Lowe's and the parking lot. There was one patch of grass near a picnic table - of COURSE with no trash cans. So we could not throw our dog's messes away. Yes, the ACCEPT pets, but NO they do not like them nor do they like their customers. I plan to call Travellodge headquarters and make sure that no one else will have a ruined trip because of these people. And for goodness' sakes, whatever you do, don't believe that Travelocity, hotels.com, or wherever talked to them prior to your arrival - they will lie just to get the money. I know because it happened to me. That said, please accept my advice! The Holiday Inn Express over by the FSK mall is very reasonable and the staff is SO nice. My friends and family alll travel home to Maryland, and not a one of us will stay with Travellodge ever again.
