The reason I chose the Travelodge was their advertisement that they were pet friendly. I reserved a non-smoking room, with a king bed. When I called to confirm my reservation, I was informed that I must stay in a SMOKING room. I indicated that I was allergic to smoke, and I requested a NON-SMOKING room. The front desk individual told me that my request was not possible, due to the pets. I asked the clerk to find me another hotel in the area. He stated that was not possible. Again, I asked for another hotel; also indicating that there would be no difference if I was standing in front of him, waiting to check in. The conversation escalated into a shouting match, ending with the fact that I cancelled my reservation. Travelodge is no longer on my list of great places to stay.
